Colosseum at Dusk is inspired by the unique atmosphere of Rome in the evening, when the ancient architecture begins to glow with warm light. I was drawn to the contrast between the cool tones of the sky and the golden illumination inside the arches.
Using palette knife and impasto technique, I built a textured surface that emphasizes the structure and depth of the Colosseum. The painting captures both the strength of the architecture and the soft, changing light of dusk.
